Tower sits on the south shore of Lake Vermilion, with Soudan and the Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park just to the east. Highways 1, 169 and 135 all come through town. Can you open a view of Lake Vermilion from my cabin?
Often, within what the shoreland rules allow. We thin the brush and small trees and leave the larger ones, which usually opens sight lines without stripping the bank. Check with St. Louis County Planning and Zoning first. Calvin can walk the lot and talk through what makes sense.
I am only at the lake on weekends. How does the estimate work?
Call or text (218) 461-7376 and set a time when you are up. Calvin walks the property with you and looks at the brush, the ground and the trees you want kept. You can flag trees before you leave, and the work can happen while you are home.
Do you clear land on the islands or across the bays?
The machine needs a way to get there over land or ice. Road access is simplest. If your lot can only be reached by boat, tell us when you call and we will talk about whether there is a winter route over the ice or some other practical option.
Will mulching near Tower leave a mess along the shore?
No piles and no slash. The brush becomes a layer of chips on the ground that holds soil and slows runoff toward the lake. Near the water we work lightly and leave roots in place, which is what you want on a shoreline.
